Pistachio Latte
What a delightful drink—with a sweet, nutty flavor and a color that evokes the awakening of spring. The pistachio latte not only surprises guests but also makes an elegant and exclusive impression. A highlight, an eye-catcher, and an absolute favorite for anyone who loves pistachios.
Ingredients
a double espresso (e.g., with our Torino Ristretto)
200 ml of milk or a plant-based alternative
1–2 tablespoons pistachio paste (pistachio syrup can also be used as an alternative)
Chopped pistachios for garnish
Optional: 1 teaspoon of honey or agave syrup / whipped cream for garnish
Preparation
Prepare the pistachio paste:
Pour the pistachio butter into a heat-resistant glass or a large mug. If you prefer it sweeter, stir in honey or your preferred sweetener right away.
How to Make Espresso:
Brew a double espresso or a strong cup of coffee. Pour it hot over the pistachio paste and stir thoroughly until everything has combined into a smooth cream.
How to froth milk:
Heat the milk and froth it with a milk frother until it's nice and creamy. Plant-based milks, such as oat or almond milk, often produce particularly stable foam and pair wonderfully with the pistachio flavor.
Finishing a latte:
Slowly pour the frothed milk into the pistachio-espresso mixture. The foam should settle on top. If you like, you can top it off with some additional milk foam using a spoon.
Finish & serve:
Garnish the latte with chopped pistachios or a sprinkle of cocoa powder and/or whipped cream—it adds a flavor boost and looks great.
